John A. DeDad
John DeDad has over 40 years of experience in the electrical construction industry. Prior to starting DeDad Consulting, LLC, Mr. DeDad was with EC&M Magazine for over 20 years, his last position being Senior Director, Editorial and EC&M Development, for Penton Media’s Electrical and Energy Group Magazines (EC&M Magazine; Electrical Marketing Newsletter; ElectricalZone, PQNewsBeat, and Electrical CodeWatch e-newsletters). He was also Conference Director of EC&M Seminars.
Prior to this, Mr. DeDad was Project Manager/General Superintendent for the New York City office of L.K. Comstock Co., Inc., then the third largest electrical contractor in U.S, and supervised field personnel in the installation of overhead power catenary for New Jersey Transit and third rail power for the New York City Transit Authority. Prior to being with L.K. Comstock, he was Manager of Application Engineering for GE Company’s Wire & Cable Business Dept. where he specialized in medium-voltage power cable application, installation, testing, and training.
Mr. DeDad holds memberships in the following engineering associations:

To date, Mr. DeDad has given over 200 presentations to various trade and technical associations such as:

He has also spoken at various industry trade shows on topics such as project management; claim preparation and litigation; power quality analysis; harmonics; power reliability; power system coordination and short-circuit analysis; power circuit protection (overcurrent, ground fault); low- and medium-voltage power cable design, installation, and testing; high potential testing; the National Electrical Code® and electrical design and installation practices.

Mr. DeDad also co-authored the IEEE Industry Application Society’s 2005 Prize Paper Short-Term, Long-Term Energy Storage Methods for Standby Electric Power Systems. Mr. DeDad has also researched and written over 250 articles that were featured in EC&M Magazine and Power Quality Magazine.
